Live Serie A Football

Italian football can probably be seen as the most tactically competent of them all. Italian football has a somewhat unfair repetition for defensive football, often thrown around by overpaid pundits who love to use the word catenaccio. Italian football is far from monolithic, and those who watch it thoroughly enjoy the tactical battles between different philosophies and playing styles. Italian football has come a long way since those halcyon days; days in which bonafide superstars like Zinedine Zizou Zidane, Ronaldo, and my personal favourite George Moved To Man City Before It Was Cool Weah plied their trade at Juventus, Inter and Milan respectively. Its reputation nosedived and it is still safe to say Italian football is still fighting to be free from the shackles of this tragedy.

Other than the Premier Leagie it was the Italian Serie that caught my attention most as a young football fan. Anybody who played Football Manager during the 90’s will know what I mean, AC Milan, Inter Milan, Juventus, Weah, Zidane etc etc It was an unbelievable league to watch, one in which the games were so different to the rush and tumble of British football. Then the scandals hit, the competitive edge seemed to leave Serie A and the “Product” was a shadow of its former self. I really hope that one day Serie A will get back to what it used to be, days when La Liga never even got a mention!
