Ο πρώην πρόεδρος της PGA George Sargent (1921-26) του Νοτιοανατολικού Τμήματος της PGA αποδίδει στον Sylvanus P. Jermain, πρόεδρο του Inverness Club στο Τολέδο του Οχάιο, την πρώτη παρουσίαση της ιδέας το 1921.
Το 1979, όταν η ομάδα της Μεγάλης Βρετανίας και της Ιρλανδίας επεκτάθηκε ώστε να συμπεριλάβει παίκτες από ευρωπαϊκές χώρες, η μορφή αναθεωρήθηκε ώστε να παρέχει τέσσερις αγώνες τετράδας και τέσσερις αγώνες τετράδας τις δύο πρώτες ημέρες και 12 αγώνες μονών την τρίτη ημέρα. Former major champion Angela Stanford, 47, will captain the US at the 2026 Solheim Cup in the Netherlands after serving as an assistant captain three times. She was part of the last American team to win away in 2015, clinching the winning point in Germany. Stanford retired in 2024 after a successful career with seven LPGA Tour wins and a major title. She looks forward to leading the US team in the prestigious competition.
Brandon Robinson-Thompson set a course record of 61 in the first round of the Bahrain Championship, leading by three shots. Despite a bogey at the last hole, he was pleased with his performance amidst challenging weather conditions. He narrowly missed equaling a tour record with eight birdies and two eagles. His career-best round left him eager for future success with his new caddy, while fellow Englishman Callum Tarren trailed in second place.
